Beaches
Mombasa, Lamu, Malindi and Watamu are the top Kenya coastal getaways, with common denominators: Soft white sands, turquoise waters, clear blue skies, coconut palms, and an array of water sports.

Mombasa
South
The turquoise water of the Indian Ocean meeting the coral reefs make for a breathtaking sight. Marine form of life is the best here; dolphins, sea turtles are very common here. And because the reefs lie just offshore, these Kenyan beaches are a diver’s and snorkelers’ heaven!
North
It consists of the Nyali, Bamburi, Shanzu and Mtwapa beaches. If you are a game fisher, be sure to visit Mtwapa beach. All these Kenyan beaches offer super varieties of water sports.
Malindi and Watamu
Both are popular tourist resorts and have marine reserves and parks and stunning beaches.
A national marine park at Watamu is a favorite place for snorkelers and divers. Watamu is a little town with probably the widest beaches in Kenya
Malindi’s main beach (which envelops Malindi Bay) stretches 7km. The Malindi National Park showcases some spectacular coral reefs. It is said to be amoung the world’s top three (with Australia’s Great Barrier Reef’s and the Red Sea’s). But it is not only a divers’ heaven, but also heaven for game fishers, surfers… You can also explore Malindi town offering ruins, gorges, and a number of bustling markets.
The Nyari in Malindi beach, has a spectacular depression called the “Hell’s Kitchen”, which has wonderful gorges and is definitely a gift of nature.
Lamu
It is the must-see place for people who wicn to explore Kenyan waters. A quiet tropical island, Lamu has a big number of villages nestled on the coastline. Coconut and mango trees are in abundance in this area.
